Trainer Comments

Here’s what Z-Health certified trainers have had to say.

My client is a 6’5” 340 lb professional offensive lineman in the NFL. He is 26 years old and has played football professionally for four years and has over 12 years of football experience. He was going to be playing on Sunday in an NFC Playoff game and was experiencing excruciating lower back pain. He could barely walk, couldn’t get down into his athletic position without pain, and had no strength pushing off of his stance. His goal was to be able to move without pain so he could play at a high level in the playoff games.

I had a 46 year old male client who was experiencing chronic, daily back pain. We focused primarily on gaining more mobility through his mid-back region, but also wanted to increase his overall mobility as well. The client initially had some difficulty doing some of the thoracic mobility drills, but as the movement there increased, the pain began to decrease. Once he came to own the movement, the pain was totally gone.

My client was a 52 year old female in extreme neck pain. She had fusion at C5 and had been told by a physical therapist and surgeon that the only thing that would reduce the pain would be a third surgery. She didn’t want another surgery, but wasn’t able to exercise because of the pain.

My client was a 54 year old female. She was born with scoliosis and had steel rods set in her back (T1-L5) to correct the scoliosis when she was in her early 20s. She had experienced tremendous back pain and upper body stiffness over the years. Her original goal was to reduce the stiffness in her neck and eliminate as much of the pain as possible. She had been seeing a myofascial specialist and acupuncturist with minimal success.

One of my newest clients – a sophomore at a major university – wanted to improve his mobility for an athletic event he would soon be participating. In our first session I evaluated his toe-touch. It was approximately one inch below his knee, or to put it another way – really bad. After a few select Z-Health mobility drills – about two minutes later – he touched his toes. As he was ascending from his toe touch he looked at me and said – in typically college sophomore fashion – “Dude, that was awesome!”

A 46 year old male client worked as an accountant. His athletic goals were to participate in boxing and martial arts, to improve his kicking, and to improve his general health. He had been dealing with a left hip pain for almost 20 years. His initial injury was caused by a martial arts teacher kicking the hip while it was in an excessively deep stretch.

A 21 year-old client of mine played football as a tight end at the collegiate level and injured his lower back while participating in some weight lifting drills. He was treated for a bulging disc by several different chiropractors, physical therapists and orthopedics. The physicians had no results. Another student I had trained over the summer referred him to me. The client’s goal was to be able to play football his senior season, but the fall season 2-a-day practices started the next week – he was desperate.

A client in his early 20’s was a collegiate level baseball pitcher who had undergone multiple back surgeries and was experiencing ongoing hip pain. His mother suggested that he attend my pilates classes and referred him to me. I asked if he was ok taking a different path if it gave him results, and he said yes.
